Dashcam footage shows the tragic end of a police chase in Little Rock, Arkansas.
Arkansas State Police Trooper Jackson Shumate conducted a traffic stop on a black GMC Sierra, on US Highway 67 South at mile marker 3 along with Trooper T. Van Schoyck and police. A. Escamilla.
This car is known to be driven by 42-year-old Christopher Monroe. Arkansas State Police said that before this chase, Monroe was wanted for drug trafficking in Sherwood, Arkansas.
After a fierce pursuit, he was arrested and convicted of trafficking and possession of banned substances.
On June 27, 2023, at approximately 2:30 pm in Pine Bluff, Arkansas.
Arkansas State Police dispatchers received a 911 call about a silver passenger vehicle traveling in the southbound lanes of I 530 near mile marker 30 at a high rate of speed.
Sergeant Preston then drove onto I 530 and attempted to catch the vehicle traveling at an estimated speed of 100 mph on the shoulder, passing southbound traffic.
Register continued south on I 530 at speeds of more than 120 mph. While continuing south, he began swerving in and out of traffic while continuing to drive on the shoulder of the road.
As Register drove through the ramp 43 entrance, Sergeant Preston was able to perform a tactical vehicle intervention (TVI), causing Register's vehicle to spin and climb the guard rail.
Register's vehicle then stopped in the middle of the southbound lane and he was arrested without further incident.
He was taken to Dub Brassell Detention Center, where he was detained for the following charges: speeding, attempting to run police, and use and possession of a controlled substance.

On Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at approximately 2:10 a.m., I was in the area of Interstate 30 West Frontage near Baseline Road.
Team A Communication informed me that the Little Rock Police Department was pursuing a reckless driver in the area of Baseline Road and was requesting assistance.
The driver was driving at a high rate of speed reaching approximately 145 MPH when police arrived at the 3 mile marker.
Police attempted to position their unit for tactical vehicle intervention (TVI), but the suspect continued to maneuver in front of the police unit to prevent TVI.
Police then made a final TVI hit at the intersection of Route 36 and Malloy Road with the vehicle coming to
a stop near a landscaping wall.
The driver, later identified as Dajuan Ridgeway, exited the driver's door and began to run away.
They continued the pursuit until they were able to apprehend the male subject behind a residence several blocks from the suspect's vehicle.
LRPD officers arrived on scene and assisted me in apprehending the suspect.
Suspect Ridgeway was transported to their custody where he was charged accordingly.
Sheridan, Arkansas police recorded a chase involving a suspect who had stolen a car.
The suspect drove recklessly, refusing to stop, leading the police to use a PIT maneuver to halt the vehicle.
A passenger in the car was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
At the hospital, a controlled substance was found on the suspect, and charges are pending.
Both the driver and passenger had active arrest warrants.
Authorities advise against using banned substances, driving under the influence, committing crimes, and fleeing from the police.
